PM shares his thoughts in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his thoughts on a number of issues in the Mann Ki Baat programmed of All India Radio on Sunday. It was the 15th edition of the programme and the last one for the year 2015. It was broadcast live on the entire network of All India Radio and Doordarshan at 11 am on Sunday morning. Regional language versions of this broadcast will be aired by AIR stations in respective regions, at 8 tonight. 

IT-enabled tool to help quit tobacco

The Center on Saturday launched four IT-based health care initiatives including an audio-based mobile service which will deliver weekly messages to families about pregnancy and child birth. An IT-enabled tool to help quit tobacco, and a dedicated helpline for Tuberculosis patients were also launched. 

Local bodies’ polls in MH, Telangana

In Maharashtra, polling began on Sunday for seven seats of the Local Bodies’ Constituencies to elect new members of State Legislative Council. Bharatiya Janata Party State Unit Spokesman Girish Vyas has already been declared elected unopposed to the Legislative Council from Nagpur Local Bodies Constituency.

The 74 year old actress Sadhna passed away on Friday at her residence in suburban Santa Cruz after brief illness. 

Smart cards to be issued to 40 cr unorganized workers

Union Labour Minister Bandaru dattatreya said the centre will soon issue social security smart cards to 40 crore workers in the unorganized sector. Speaking on the sidelines of a programme in Hyderabad Friday, the Minister said the government was aiming to bring all workers in the unorganized sector under social security net. 

MoU between Prasar Bharti and Digital Television Russia

A Memorandum of Understanding between Prasar Bharati and Digital Television Russia on Cooperation in the field of Broadcasting was signed on Thursday in Moscow in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Putin.
