Centre says it is fully committed to protecting rights of Dalits:Centre has sought a review of the apex court judgment on SC & ST Prevention of Atrocities Act delivered on 20th March. The Centre filed its review petition in the apex court on Monday saying that the judgement has wide ramifications resulting in the dilution of the stringent provisions of the 1989 law and deserves to be recalled or reviewed by the apex court. SC/ST Protests: Bus services, mobile internet services suspended in Punjab:In view of a bandh called by a several organizations to protest the alleged dilution of the SC/ST Act, Bus services and mobile internet services have been suspended in Punjab. School and colleges were also closed on Monday. In view of the Bandh, CBSE class 10th and 12th exams in Punjab were also postponed.
