The Women and Child Development Department, Jammu & Kashmir (WCD J&K) is responsible for implementing key welfare schemes focused on the development and protection of women and children in the region. Through its Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and Mission Poshan, the department plays a vital role in improving child nutrition, early education, and maternal care. As part of its grassroots operations, WCD J&K regularly recruits Anganwadi Workers and Helpers to support its mission in local communities.

Vacancy Details & Educational Qualification

WCD J&K has announced a total of 18 vacancies, equally divided between two posts:

1. Anganwadi Worker – 9 Posts

  • Qualification: 12th pass or Graduation
  • Role: Involved in pre-school education, growth monitoring, and facilitating government schemes for children and mothers.

2. Anganwadi Helper – 9 Posts

  • Qualification: Minimum 10th pass
  • Role: Assist the Anganwadi Worker in daily operations, child care, nutritional support, and outreach activities.

Age Limit

  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 37 years
  • Cut-off Date: Age will be calculated as on 01 January 2025.
  • Age relaxation rules apply as per government norms for reserved categories.

Application Fee

  • No Application Fee is required to apply for either post.

Selection Procedure

  • Shortlisting: Based on merit in educational qualifications.
  • Final Selection: Through a personal interview conducted by the department.

Eligible candidates must apply offline by submitting a filled application form along with all supporting documents to the designated office.

  2. Fill in the form with accurate personal and academic details.
  3. Attach the following:
    • Mark sheets (10th/12th/Graduation)
    • Domicile certificate
    • Date of birth proof
    • Passport-sized photograph
